Christ
Renews His Parish (CRHP) is an experience and a process designed
to enable an individual to move from an experience of CHURCH, to
the experience of being CHURCH, and finally, to the experience of
being CHURCH for others.
The
CRHP experience brings parishioners together as a Christian Community
and is centered around a parish renewal weekend with a clear focus
on the Gospel. The weekend provides for parish renewal in furthering
conversion and community, ministry and prayer, healing and holiness,
and spiritual growth and Gospel service.
CRHP
emphasizes continued growth in our faith and our interaction with
others, offering an unsurpassed opportunity to get to know others
in our St. Matthew’s community. Our parish joins more than
500 other Catholic communities bringing this renewal weekend to
parishioners since 1969.
What
happens on the weekend?
Join fellow parishioners to discuss how Catholics function in our
modern, complex and fast-paced society. The renewal weekend provides
an atmosphere for individual spiritual growth through prayer and
personal reflection. You are invited to join in the conversation
and share as much or as little a you like about the demands of everyday
life presented by faith, families, society and jobs.
Mass will be celebrated during the weekend and the opportunity for
Reconciliation will be provided.
How Does the Process Work?
A CHRP team made up of priests, religious and parishioners like
you, who have attended a previous CRHP weekend, facilitates your
renewal weekend. CRHP can be made as a renewal experience with no
further commitments, however, many participants choose to become
members of a new team and present the next weekend. Weekends are
limited to 30 participants.
Casual,
comfortable clothing is appropriate for both Saturday and Sunday.
A registration fee is requested. The spirit of CRHP is to make the
experience available to everyone. Arrangements can be made for anyone
interested in participating, but unable to afford the fee.
