This
is a ministry to the bereaved at the time of the death of a loved
one, and to some degree, a support group. The Bereavement Ministry
functions include: assisting the family with setting up the Liturgy
and music for the Mass, helping with leading the Rosary at the Vigil
when requested, providing luncheons after the funeral, either at
the family home or on the Church grounds, and house sitting when
necessary while the family attends the funeral.
Whenever
possible, help is given with the settling of financial matters and
in keeping in touch with the widow/widower to see if any assistance
is needed. Twice a year the ministry hosts a luncheon for family
members of the deceased. In November the deceased of the past year
are remembered at a Memorial Mass. When requested, information is
provided on Brochures of Funeral Services. Meetings are held three
times a year on the third Monday of January, March, and September
at 9:30am in the Scout Hut.
