The
ministry of lectoring calls upon people to proclaim the Word of
God on Sundays and special holy days and read the petitions of the
prayer of the faithful.
Through
the lector, God’s living Word continues to be proclaimed to
his people. The task is like that of the sower who generously casts
the seed on the earth. Perhaps only a few seeds will take root at
any time, but that is certainly something.
Preparation is the key to being a good lector. By immersing yourself
in God’s word, you will not only proclaim it more ably to
others, but you will also grow in your own knowledge and love of
the living God.
Training
sessions are normally held once a year at a date set after the Ministry
sign-up weekend. Anyone who signs up will be notified of the training
dates.
