Ushers
of the mass are men and women who greet parishioners as they come
in, help find them a seat if necessary, tend to their needs, collect
the offerings, offer communion to the handicapped and the elderly
at their seats and guide the parishioners to communion. Ushers may
also ask families to carry the gifts to the altar during the offertory.
Schedules are usually prepared for a three month time period and
it takes approximately twenty ushers a month to cover the 5:30pm,
8:30am, and 10:30am weekend masses.
